Hi, I was wondering if it is worth it to boot windows 10 from a usb drive rather then a disk since the media creation tool is giving me trouble. I'm planning on having a boot ssd but would a flash drive make a big difference?

And also, about how long does it take for each?

A flash drive is recommended since the load times between a disc and USB is more than double the speed when transferring the files during install, you will still need to use the creation tool to make a bootable USB though.

I have used USB bootable disks for many Linux distros for various needs, and have used USB for Windows 10 as well. I recommend that as USB will always be on-board.

I prefer using discs. Less of a hassle to me.

I would use a USB drive as discs can break a lot easier than flash drives. One of my dad's burnt discs had the bottom layer peel away, rendering the disc useless.

Keep an ISO on your hard drive but use a USB when you need to reinstall.

this. i'm all over this.

although, i ran out of spare sata cables to hook up an optical drive, so i'm back to my ungodly awful usb stick.

i've had good luck with rufus for vareous linux distros, and windows versions.
