Skyrim not noticing a difference after upgrade?

Fictionvl

So I just installed my new R9 390, upgrading from an old HD 7870

and the game that I mostly play is skyrim, and I was expecting that I wont get any dropping in frames, but I was wrong

I installed all the right drivers and everything

my specs are

i7 - 6700k

12 GB DDR4 2666MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX

XFX R9 390

Asus Maximus VIII Gene motherboard

I installed the graphics card at the bottom slot as it was interfering with the USB 3.0 Cable in the motherboard and some other things

Im not sure if thats the case..

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Late 2017 Build : Intel i7 8700k // Asus Prime Z370-A // G.Skill Trident Z 8x2 16GB // EVGA GTX 1080 Ti  // NZXT S320 Elite

Late 2015 Build : Intel i7 6700k // Asus Maximus VI Gene Z170 //  Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Gigabyte GTX 970 // Corsair Air 240

Skyrim is one of those games that suffers from stuttering, especially if you have a large amount of mods. However, you should have noticed at least a lot more stable fps >.>

^Try this op, see if it makes any difference.

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

thats what I thought, fps isn't stable its the same thing, before I used to own a 3570k and a 970, it was a lot more stable than right now

Likely the cause of such issue..?

Restricted performance gains due to mods...

Stock game on each card would totally show a difference.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I knew someone would say something about that, but the thing is, I should AT LEAST, get a bit more better FPS with the huge leap from the HD 7870 to the R9 390.

But .....NOT if there was a mod installed that restricted such a gain from taking place. (You never know...)

Try another game to compare performance..., if you see gains that you should get, it's prob Skyrim/Modz being the problem

This, maybe a list of mods you're using would help?

there are around 71 mods, I use performance versions of each mod that might be taxing.

I don't know how I can give you a whole list...
