Is my internet good?

4908909114.png

I wondered if my internet was good? I play a lot of competitive games and livestream 1080p at 60fps quite often and there is never really any lag.

I'm upgrading my BT broadband speeds, here is part of the email BT sent me:

Your broadband will start by midnight on: 14 Dec 2015

How fast?

We estimate your download speed will be between 45Mb and 66Mb, and your upload speed will be between 12Mb and 19Mb.

The minimum guaranteed speed you can expect from your BT Infinity will be 35Mb.

The top speed you can get from your broadband line depends on a number of things. To find out what they are, go to bt.com/aboutbroadbandspeed

I don't have cable in my area, but when I move out that is the first thing I'm going to look for (I handle the internet as my parents don't really understand it)

EDIT: After seeing everyone's responses I think my Wifi is pretty good, could be better but it's better than 75% of GB, that is very good :3

It's pretty good for the UK.

I'm limited by my plan right now, but my line supports about 75/20

I actually live in the middle of fields, but my connection is about 3x faster than it was when I lived in the city.

Look if it satisfies your needs then its good, if you overpay for something that is 2x cheaper in other areas then you should worry.

But as i know in rural areas fixed internet is a headache due to internet over telephone cables that suck ass.

Weirdly, my speeds improved 3 fold when I moved to a rural area xD We are less than 100m from the box, though. Shame Openreach have put a hold on FTTP orders, as I'd want to have it installed.

Your upload is generally fine for livestreaming, anything over 3-5 is enough for Twitch and such. I've streamed with 10mbps and see little to know different to what I stream with now. Your down is really lame, though.
