Do you turn your PC off at night or not? THE BIG POLL

Easy question. Feel free to explain why you do/don't turn your PC off. I'd love to know how people think about the subject since there are sooooo many different articles/tests about it.

 

I always turn my PC off when I go to sleep. Since a week or 2 I've been letting it run during the day because I started folding. But during the night I always turn it off. Why? idk, my PC makes a lot of light and it would consume quite a lot of electricity I guess.

I do, because it boots up in under 20 seconds so why the heck not.

 

By the time I've settled down in my chair, put my headphones on, and turned the screen on I'm already at the desktop.

Yes I turn off my PC. Personally I think leaving it on is madness with absolutely no benefit other than a bigger electric bill

 

And since it boots in seconds there is no advantage

Is that excluding post time? Cause I'm pretty sure that motherboard alone should take 5 seconds to post.

I only turn it off because of the noise and light from my PC, i like it to be quiet and dark for me to sleep.

It's possible with fastboot, which bypasses the POST screen, or booting from a sleep or hibernation mode. 

 

I have fastboot enabled on my laptop, which boots in around 7 seconds from completely off.

I use to keep my PC on 24/7 before I had an SSD. Now I either use sleep, hibernation or just off.

Not doing the UEFI bios thingy and only enabling windows 10 fast boot, does that help already for faster boot times?

legacy bios takes 2 to 3 seconds extra time for me.

Lol I'm with most of the people here. When my computer boots up in 10 seconds I can just turn it off lol. My old iMac took longer then that just to wake up from sleep

Isn't power also cheaper at night, cos non-peak?  For me there's no difference though.
