Samsung Sm SA850 24 inch monitor Vertical line problem

i got this monitor around 2 weeks ago and it had vertical lines all across the screen but when i plugged my cable in to it from my computer it displays under the lines, so i was wondering if there is any software/firmware issue that could be causing this?
