Get best gameplay on a 144hz monitor with 60fps game?

iamdarkyoshi

I enjoy bit trip runner 2. But this:

"Frame rate is uncapped after disabling vsync, gameplay is capped at 60 FPS. Users with high refresh rate monitors are reporting this with constant steady movement is causing motion blurring making game near unplayable."

Source: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Bit.Trip_Presents..._Runner2:_Future_Legend_of_Rhythm_Alien

When I get my 144hz master race monitors, how can I make the game look as smooth as possible? On my existing monitor, the scrolling level is not sharp at all. It blurrs due to only being 60hz and looks awful.

What can I do to make 60hz look as clean and smooth as possible with the game?

reduce motion blur, turn down settings until you get your fps cap (presumably 60fps). You could try to overclock your monitor but I doubt you'll be able to.

Could you under clock it to either 120 hz or 60 hz so it looks right?

OP says the game only runs at up to 60 fps.  That would look best on something running at a multiple of 60 fps, would it not?  would underclocking it help/work?  I thought most 144 hz panels were just overclocked 120 hz ones anyways so I think it should...

All the 144hz monitors support 120hz buts its not going to solve much of the problem. But honestly with this sort of problem vsync on makes a lot of sense.
