Going for 980 Ti from 970 G1?

MartyG

Should I ? I was posting some threads here, but still haven't bought one. I am still wondering. Will I notice big difference in games? World of warcraft, Overwatch.I just want to feed my 144hz monitor. thats all

Its like A LOT more powerful than a single 970 - like its on par with SLI 970s in many games

Sadly 970 isn't supported in any blizzard game.

For the 2 games you've mentioned, I definitley wouldn't at 1080p, it'll be a waste of the 980ti.

Even have my doubts at 1440p since wow isn't too demanding except for some battlegrounds or in raids.

Can't comment too much about Overwatch as it's still in beta but according to the recommended beta specifications, the 970 will be plenty for it.  https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/overwatch-system-requirements

So if it's only for those 2 games that you're thinking about upgrading your 970, I wouldn't in your case. Keep that money in the bank for future upgrades or games.

FPS is dropping to 40-50 all on ultra 1080p in Wow with single 970.. i'd love a bit more performance, will the 980 Ti give me at least 100 fps in raids ? Kappa

It sure will give you more fps than a 970... if you have the cash to blow then I say go for it cause it's a 980Ti....

But personally, lower your settings and get more performance...

"Sulit" (adj.) something that is worth it

You'll get pretty much no benefit during raids for those extra frames tbh... it's not like the area's where to stand is hard at boss battles eh.

I'd understand if you were talking about high elo pvp, but for raids... just don't. Unless you have the cash lying around, then by all means go ahead as the 980ti eats the 970 duh.

Do you even DSR bro?

1080p + Driver given Super-Resolutions surpassing it.

Makes it hands down not overpowered for the task.

Not everyone would do it, but its not entirely stupid.

And who's to say he couldn't just go get a new monitor (higher resolution) in a year to suit it better.

More than you need is better than not having enough in regards to your personal gaming needs.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
