Which benchmarks should I run to measure my GPU compared to a new one im getting tomorrow?? I know firestrike but what else?

Firestrike is crappy

Just out of curiosity why do you say thats better? 

cause Firestrike will sometimes fuck with clocks - I had my 280 stay at 870MHz rather than 980MHz for some reason and that decreased my score significantly.

Firestrike also depends HEAVILY on the card tested

@don_svetlio has a good suggestion.

 

But besides that, you can also play some games and keep an eye on the average fps with an on screen FPS counter, and then do the same on the new card. Not as scientific, but still works.

i7 4790k | GTX 970 | 16GB

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

Prime95 is a stress test

 

Get Intel Xtreme Tuning Utility, it has both stresstest and a benchmark

ASUS Realbench has both benchmark and stresstest

3DMark includes both GPU and CPU benchmark

Cinebench is a good benchmark

AIDA64 has both stresstest and benchmark

OCCT has a stresstest

Catzilla includes both GPU and CPU benchmark

why shouldn't he use it with Intel CPUs?

because it can damage the CPU by making it run way abnormally hot

hotter than is possible with any regular 100% load

and if you dont have it on locked voltage it can also force the CPU to use more voltage, like over 1.3v
