Does the motherboard color matter?

hello guys, I'm building my first pc and I'm trying to keep it all white. I was woundring if the color of the mobo matters much? doesn't the motherboard hides behind the cpu cooler and Gpu and everything else? does it really matter what color motherboard I get? Thank you

id say, if you whant a white build see what affordable white mobo u can get. if non, go for what ever black one you can get. if there is non. get any off sceme color that your white build would fit with. id say blue or light blue is nice with white :) but white in general is the best for a white sceme. not matter if its feraly hidden. black hides qait well as it blends in nicely ;) so see whatcha can find m8

Yes if you're going for a build that look pretty get a matching colour scheme motherboard. You will still see it even with all the components plugged in.

Just look up builds on Google Images and you can judge:

In my opinion, it does matter if you're trying to colour match.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X            | Cooler: Deepcool AK400      | Motherboard: B550 Elite AX V2  | Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB  |

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB   | GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti        | Case: NZXT H440 (Red/Black)    | PSU: EVGA 650W G2             |

This is all personal preference. In my opinion choosing the motherboard color is the base of the theme of the pc, or you can start with the case and build around that. Color matching doesn't really matter at all, it's up to you to choose what's aesthetically pleasing to you.

So to answer your question, yes I do think motherboard color does matter.

no it does not matter at all... I dont get people matching everything in color.. and then they have a normal case hiding everything.. soo.. yeah.. useless...

It will typically be pretty hidden, however a bright color will still be noticed. Try to get white or black, perhaps work your wiring and cooling to help hide it...but as always don't sacrifice performance for looks.

If you can't find a white mobo you like, you can always go for a contrasting color like black. You will still see the motherboard so if color scheme is important to you, then yes it matters.

If you have OCD then yes. If not then not really. But then the OCD people of the Internet to ask why you didn't color match anything.
