Jury Duty....

What fun, also I think I'd be a fairly bad juror as I would not convict people who where in violation with laws I didn't agree with so.....

 

Anyone else have been given jury duty, if so how bored where you, it's likely I'm going to be able to avoid it due to class conflicts but if not I'd just make them think I was crazy so they'd dismiss me.

I've not had to do jury duty but a good way to get out of it is to cut your leg off. That way you wont have to go cause you can tell them that being around all those people who have both of their legs triggers you and makes you sad.

If you are a college student I believe you can call and tell them that it conflicts with class and they will excuse you.

The last three times I have been to court, I was on the floor not on the jury stand. And it's not much more fun being there, especially if you know that the trial is just for the record.

And if the system where you live is anywhere near the same as the system in Denmark, then the lawyers and judge(s) will hate you as much as you hate being there.

Yeah I kinda figured but I had a back up as NH requires a questionaire which I would assume was to dismiss undesirable jurors and I was just going to say everyone is innocent or guilty because God told me so or something along those lines (no offense to the religious btw)

It's unfortunate that lawyers and judges are the most miserable people you'll meet given they decide what happens in the courtroom, I don't know a single person who doesn't atleast hate lawyers due to how they act

If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

It's worse when you go to Federal Jury duty. I hope they never call me back.

 

On a side note, tell them you know one of the two partys and that it would be a conflict of interest to serve.

And in two and a half year I'll be a lawyer. I will say that I have not met a down right miserable lawyer yet.

Most of them are just as fun loving as any other person.

US lawyers have a bad rep due to a lot of money grubbing assholes passing the BAR, so my comment is indeed to generalized but it is how I perceive them due to my interactions with a few of them. Bias as it may be.

Mine is my state's superior court, and I also hope they just let me go on my merry way.

Ive been called twice in 3 years. I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to go down town Detroit to do it. There is like no parking down their. On top of them not allowing phones in to the courts. Like the OP I wouldnt be good in some instances. I hate large corporations, so I would always go against them. Although I have been picked to be on a jury, we were dismissed. It was a juicy case too. Murder, armed robbery and car jacking. I think it would have been interesting.  

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
