Your Printer Could Be (Helping) Spy On You!

HA! The jokes on them, I don't even own a printer.

I hand write all of my ransom notes.

you would be better off stealing a printer

This ain't new. I've read this before. That's why I only use laser monochrome for home and then use work/school/commercial place printer for anything colored.

That's not really news, mate, I've known about this for years. I don't think it's a problem because no one knows what printer you own anyway. But if they can prove you falsified documents with it (they'd have to suspect it was you and get a warrant to see what printer you have because they'd have no way to know otherwise), well, it kind of is your own fault.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Printers are the work of Satan anyways.

It's too bad printers are one of the necessary evils of this world.

What do you think it should be?

Something like "Some printers include hidden identifiers on page"? Not sure if that sounds good as a title though.

For a comparison a lot of cameras leave their serial number on every picture taken with the EXIF data. Of course that can be stripped pretty easily...

I guess I just don't see how this would be a big deal to anyone.
