Different Resolutions TV On PC

TravisTea

Just curious about a certain subject. Why is it some tvs advertise themselves as 1080p but when you hook up a computer via HDMI or VGA the set natively to 720p? I know you can force a higher resolution but it makes everything look horrible.

tvs advertised as HD are 720p its a cheap trick used to trick non tech savy people. 1080p will be advertised as FULL HD or 1080p

HD Ready includes 720p as well as 1080p. What I mean by that is a TV can display up to 720p and be advertised as being HD Ready because it's considered an HD resolution.
