Nebbie40

My processor is running at a very hot 90°. My currant cooling solution the Intel stock cooler is not doing enough to help cool. Any solutions over than to get a new cooler?

Reapply thermal paste?

My i5 6500 is bad and can't even maintain 4.5ghz, and 4.4ghz causes it to slowly become unstable over weeks with a vcore of 1.395. FML

See if this would clear everything. Seems to be a great cooler for the price.

Otherwise I would reapply thermal paste and blow a shitton of air into it.

re-apply thermal paste, get rid of dust in case and on the fans.

Need to reapply the paste and reseat the cooler.

A Sandy Bridge CPU has no reason to run that hot unless heavily overclocked.

It's not a race to the bottom.

There no over clocking in the cpu

Has been said already. Reapply thermal paste and reseat the cooler. Don't forget to clean the heatsink and the CPU first.

1. Make sure you have cleaned your pc of dust... especially the intake... You should be doing this once a month anyway

2. Buy and install a better cooler than the stock one... the brand coolmaster are exactly that. Don't over do the thermal paste!

3. load into your bios and undervolt your cpu
