unless the board is dead, in which case they send you a brand new one back with all new accessories

either way, they dont want any accessories, just the board

i am returning a motherboard and the email said to make sure i knew the policies before returning, so i dont understand this statement completely, does this mean to just send back the motherboard in a plain box without the original box and accessories ?

 

and i dont have an antistatic bag (dont kill me for saying this) but will a plastic grocery bag work ? -solved

It would be better to not use any bag at all and just place it back in the motherboard box with nothing else inside and pack all that in a shipping box to ship it off to them.

 

 

no a grocery bag will not work because it creates static and does not dissipate it

Box it came in but only the motherboard. I've heard stories where people left the I/O shield in the box and never got one back.

send anything of those that you have, that way you do not chance it being sent back.

Just the motherboard and nothing else inside the original motherboard box with then all in another shipping box to give some packing material.

They will just send you board, not accessories

They would send accessories if it was a different board and tbh why would they send back a different board?

well then whats the point of an rma ? my board is defective and its a problem that cant be fixed

Sorry, I misunderstood, if they send back a different board of the same model all the accessories you have will work with it.

You need an anti static bag. If you send anything other than the motherboard, you won't be getting them back, they will be trashed. So don't send them your CDs, cables, manual, etc.. .

 

Is basically what it says. And a shopping bag is a big NO NO. Those things create static.

Don't send ANY accessories. Take everything that's not the motherboard itself and keep it.

 

Just as an example, I've send back a graphics card for an RMA before and it didn't even come back with a rubber cover for the SLI connectors when I got it back. Not that there's anything wrong with that - but just giving you a heads up.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.
