Posted November 15, 2015 How much airlfow is the card getting and do you have a custom fan profile? The reference 290 will keep the fan low until the GPU gets to 90 C and then will adjust the fan to keep the temp 90-92 C
 Posted November 15, 2015 I'd either try moving the top exhaust to the bottom as an intake just to test if the temps get better and don't screw over the cpu temps, also positive pressure is better for both cooling and dust management @Hybrid_ And if that doesn't work better fans/airflow case are in probably required https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ Tier Breakdown (My understanding)--1 Godly, 2 Great, 3 Good, 4 Average, 5 Meh, 6 Bad, 7 Awful
 Posted November 16, 2015 I own an MSI 290 Gaming LE (TwinFrozr) and it gets quite hot in my Fractal R5. I hit 92C while gaming. I am planning to add an extra fan on the bottom (near the PSU) to blow some cool air directly on the card. I am also thinking about changing the thermal paste to something like MX-4. I think the thermal paste used by MSI isn't very good. I have the card since 10 months and it is definitively warmer than it used to be, for the exact same game. I used to be around 83-85C.
