Hello everyone - so right now, I have a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD. I want to get the new 950 Pro M.2 SSD. Would it be possible to put both of them in RAID 0 to get blazing fast read/write speeds?

Thanks!

Ethan

1) you wouldnt get fast speeds because the 850 evo is far slower than the 950 pro

2) i dont know what you are doing, but I can tell you right now that its a waste of money because nothing needs those speeds unless your job is content creation

3) the 950 pro has overheating issues

It's not a job, but I do a lot of content creation. I manage my sister's YouTube Channel, I make Minecraft animation stories, and I make music. All of those deal with enormous files, so I would need the fast read/write. But thanks for letting me know that RAID 0 wouldn't be a good option. :)

No, it does have support for a m.2

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

So you are correct - my MSI Z97 PC Mate didn't have an M.2 SSD. That was my old motherboard. Now, I have an Asus Z97-E. I checked on pcpartpicker and the Asus motherboard does have an M.2 slot. I just forgot to change my signature. :)

Yeah, as stated above, RAID0 isn't a good option. You'll be crippled by the slowest drive. It's probably not so good to be mixing interfaces on the drives either.

You also might consider getting more RAM if you're a heavy content creator. It helps loads when working on video editing.

I hope you enjoy the 950 though.
