brand new 980ti strix

i just got a brand new asus 980ti strix and i have installed it but when i turn it on it boots into windows but there is not output to my monitor so i cant install the driver  what should i do

Plug it into your motherboard (if you CPU had onboard graphics) and install the drivers from there

but when it is plugged into my motherboard it will not output from any ports not even the onboard graphics

Try another cable or port on your monitor and graphics card.

Did you plug your monitor in the GPU as oppose to the motherboard?

i have a rm1000i and i have tried every port and every pci slot

You can plug your monitor into your graphics card and use it as a basic display device during the driver install. Just note that the GPU won't be at it's full potential if you try to run a game.

 

Also do check that 'x' cable is definitely in 'x' slot. Nothing worse than putting a HDMI cable into the DisplayPort connector. 

 

Try different slots on your motherboard to see if that works.

when i boot it up it either comes up with ao as a code or a2 and still outputs nothing and i made sure i had the display port cable in the right connector

Does it boot when you remove your graphics card? And try to reset cmos

Are the fans on your GPU spinning? Also try resetting cmos

if your monitor has more then one input like Displayport and hdm. and same for gpu. try using both at the same time and see if it works if you  switch to one of the other sorces.
