CSGO: Getting Started

Hey guys, I just got CSGO a couple of days ago....holy crap, it's the hardest game I've ever played. I cannot seem to hit a single person, even the bots in singleplayer. Do you guys have any tips on how to improve? My sensitivity is properly tuned and it feels comfortable so that's not really the issue. Anyway, any tips you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Play ALOT of deathmatch try to controll the spray while shooting at a wall. Aim/spray controll are probably the most important things untill you reach a "higher" level

Many new players fire all bullets at once, which is great with a SMG and Negev, but not with rifles, tap 2-3 bullets with the AK47 aimed at the shoulder height, and with the M4A1-S I tend to aim at stomach crouch and fire, many players reccomend crouching; don't do this at first, it's a surefire way on how to crouch into a headshot, and always peek walls, go out and straight back in.

 

Edit: Worth noting that you'll just get used to aiming as you play more, I didn't do any "Training" against bots to become better at aiming, heck i've got 400 hours and still can't aim well.

 

Edit: As another player mentioned, try controlling recoil against a wall, then do that against bots then humans, it helps you to avoid recoil.

Anyone new into any counter strike game must know and realize that it's a different FPS game and is more realistic of recoil and damage. You have to take advantage of the crosshair and place them at the opponent then carefully spray. You must know the spray patterns of the gun, take it slow at first and learn the spray patterns of Rifles as those have the highest recoil. Don't just spray with pray, it takes skill to master this game. I'm MGE and I still have to train these skills everyday

Burst fire, SMGs require like little to no skill, and you have a fair bit of money if you buy SMGs and a pistol only (Which is what I use, MP7/P90 and a P250).

Aim for head with high damage weapons weak weapons just spray and pray!

SMG's are really underestimated, effective use of a SMG can cripple a rush.

Whatever you do and no matter how often you die, don't rage.

I don't play CS:GO myself, but that's more like a general tip for multiplayer games. If you rage you'll loose control of the action and you'll get worse. So definitly take your time and work on it.

They really can. I only ever use SMGs, or an AWP if I pick one up, and a Negev on the last round
