600-950 will get you a beast of a gaming PC :3

I would like to know a good range for a gaming PC,because as of right now I am using a pavilion g7 laptop and has been holding up well for the couple of years. Now that my B-day is near along with Cyber Monday I would like to be able to build my own PC.

Best value, probably around $800 USD. However you could get away with a $650+ PC. For "futureproofing" probably about $1000 or more.

if all you need is the tower you can get a beast of a machine for 1k, and a decent machine for about 700

if you need monitor os and peripherals you will need about 1k for a decent machine and about 1300 for a killer one

This question really depends on what settings you are going to run on games. And also the game you will play.

I think about $800-$900 US is the sweet spot for a gaming computer.

A well thought out build at that price should last a good while and with a GPU upgrade down the road, last you a few more years.

Spend less and you may hit a point where you need more expensive upgrades sooner for it to stay relevant, spend more and you start getting further and further into diminishing performance returns for the price.

This is based on buying new parts (even on sale) and you build it on your own.

Buy a custom prebuilt and add $200-$300, a bit more if you look at mass produced gaming PCs (alienware and the likes)

Your pricing is completely off, if you enthusiast PC to push high resolutions at high FPS, we are talking about $4000 for it. This is with good quality components as well
