Can I run a 750 Ti of this crappy PSU?

GER_T4IGA

My friend has a prebuilt "bureau-rig" and wants to upgrade it to a 750 Ti.

What do you need to know about the power supply? I have a picture of it but I can't upload it since I am on my phone.

The seems to reccomend 400 watts or 20A on the 12V rail( I think I read this somewhere) for a 750 Ti but this thing is only rated for +12.0V = 18.0A.

Would the card fry the PSU? Or at least: do you think he can saves run this card with OC!(other than GPU BOOST)?

Sry for the he and I confusion. It is for a friend of mine.

Nope. You can upload to Imgur via the website, and it doesn't use much data

There are 750ti's that require no additional power and simply run off the PCI power (iirc they are like 60-70W GPUs). I put one of those in a rig with a noname PSU of 300w and it's totally fine. I suggest you go with one of those.

I would get something like this for a few bucks and not risk setting your house on fire: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ss300etbronze

EDIT: Or for the same money and more wattage: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ssp350st

Sounds good but what sounds not so good is that he only has a ~150€ budget for the upgrade.

I know MSI, EVGA and Asus all have versions of the card that don't have a six-pin connector.

You can still get a 750ti and a cheap Seasonic for that money, though I'd suggest you look for a used GPU that could be better than a 750ti or a used one for like $80.

If he has to get a PSU please be specific so I can tell him tomorrow. And yes, I also thought about used before. We'lol see what offers there are in our area.

Shopping in Germany.

My main shop for used would be eBay. Craigslist is not really popular here.

E.g:Here is a guy with a 670 and possibly 750wat PSU. Waiting for offers. Should I tell my friend about him or will that be to expensive anyway.

If the 750W PSU is good and it's affordable then why not go for it? A 670 is better than a 750ti.
