CPU: Intel Core i5-4460

Cooler: stock 

GPU: XFX Double Dissipation R9 390 1000MHZ 8GB DDR5

Mobo: ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3

Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

SSD: anDisk SSD PLUS SDSSDA-120G-G25 2.5" 120GB

PSU: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular

 

Total Price: 822.5

 

Is this overkill for 1080p high settings 60 fps gaming?

Slightly. A 380 would be fine but a 390 would be better for the long run. Also, do not get a CX PSU, get something from XFX, Super flower, Seasonic or anything from EVGA's G2 or GS lines.

Good just change the PSU to one of EVGA's G2 or GS lines

For newer games that's probably the best card for it, 970 is not enough for me personally, just depends on the games you're going to play.

Nah you're fine. I would change the PSU though.

EVGA's B2 PSUs and Antec's True Power Classic are also good PSUs.
