you cant get 300-400 fps in csgo cause moniter refresh rates only go up to 144 hertz

Not true

asus has the 165hz ips monitor that is higher then 144

You don't need 300fps at 4K. It's a source game. There is no interface that can drive 4K that fast.

If you're playing at 4K, then get a 7970 and call it a day. That'll run fine.

Do you think everyone has a ton of money to buy a monitor? ...

please stop spamming this thread.

as for your question, a 950 should be enough (bit overkill) to power a source game. tough if you really want to waste money you could get a 390 or 970 i guess.

What is your current graphics card? The current one that is the most powerful would be the GTX 980ti. But you can always lower some of your graphics setting to increase your frame rates.

You cant get a 4K moniter that goes uo to 144 hertz without spending over 1 thousand dollars, and I doubt that this guy has 1000 dollars lying around

Nope. Refreshing a higher amount of times, framerates in CS:GO are unlimited will improve the latency between the game and what's being rendered on your screen. It's because your GPU has more frames to draw from per a given second. Anything upwards of 200-300 will be less noticeable.

980 or something for 4K.

nope, must've read over that. i just assumed he meant 1080p.

anyway, i think even a 980ti might struggle getting 300fps on 4K. (eventough i don't know of any 4K monitors capable of such refresh rates, or any monitors, really)

Csgo is a very easy game to "run"...  As for fps, this is easy too.  My advise is to worry about other games you might play.  If you were to even list the games you want to play, i could advise a gpu (graphics card).

Edited:  just noticed 300+ fps is csgo on 4k... this is first off way overkill...  60-100+ fps would be great.  For the video card, maybe a gtx 970 or better.  As for AMD fans, r9 380 (4gb) should be able to do this but i cant recall too much on amd as i dont know it as well as the nvidia series.

a potatoe with a HDMI output is all you need to get 300+ FPS

umm.. I don't think you know how framerates work. Your GPU can produce more frames per second than the monitor can refresh. This actually decreases input lag due to something called frame latency

Try to get 300+fps on a 750ti and you'll be out of luck, other than maybe 800x600.

For 1080p i would suggest something like a 280x or a 380/380x. That will be more than enough

Overread the 4k part; no idea what would get you that high fps at 4k...
