I'm planning to grab it, but I won't be able to water cool it for a while, how are the temps at 60% fan speed?

I dont have it, but I can confidently say that it probably performs quite well.

I would get it even if I wasnt watercooling it, its so sexy

Would presume it to be perfect for playing, I hardly think any 980ti will have temperature problems unless you didn't have any form of air intake.

 

My MSI 980ti only gets to 50 @ 50% fan load on gta5 @ 4k. If you love the card then go for it :)
