A 380 is a 285 with slight improvements and 1gb more of VRAM. the 285 is still pretty capable.

Well the 380 is slightly better and it has more vram...better for longevity.

Go with the R9-380, clock per clock it's slightly faster than the R9-280.

It have newer technology like memory color compression, better tessellation engine, 4K Virtual Super Resolution, 4K VCE(x264 encoder) recording and Freesync support.

280 is better. 290 is refreshed 285 card. I literally had looked this up today

That makes no sense

380 is superior to a 280

What? 290 is GCN 1.1. 285 is GCN 1.2. The 290 is an entirely different card.

ftfy. The 285 only came in 2GB variants.
