Help out a noob here.. =P

Illdef

Not really a complete noob, but the last pc I build was during the pentium days. Taking a while before I can catch up again. But now have 700-730$ budget, I was wondering if this is ok?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Ckr7xr

I wanted aesthetics and a 960. Tried my best to make it fit. Dont mind the keyboard, as I dont really mind it as much, I just need a new one. =)

Also Im not 100% on that processor. (I want this to run games 1080p and record aswell)

You could do much better than that for 700 USD.

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

get the R9 270. R9 270 outperforms 960 in every possible way.

The 960 is a lot better than the R9 270. Do you mean R9 380?

First of all, you shouldn't be using AMD processors at that price point. Try an I3 or I5.

Secondly, you should be using an AMD graphics card at that price point. Try an 370x or 380.

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia

I'm using this data to judge this site's biases so people can post in a more objective way.

Why waste money on getting an APU as well as a dedicated GPU? Get a 4650 and a cheap mobo instead, also get a different PSU, corsair CX seriesPSUs use low quality components, I recommend any 450w PSU from either Seasonic, XFX, or Antec

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Getting an APU is definitely not worth it if you're going to purchase a gpu. Get an i3 or i5 instead. It may be a little more expensive if you go for an i5, but the performance difference is noticeable.

1. Change a10-7850K to a core i5 (the i5 is worlds better for a bit more)

2. Get an R9 380 4GB for that price!

3. Get a seasonic one . COrsair's CX line are not meant for gaming. They're meant for office work. Don't use it for gaming.

don't go with an APU, especially if you want a dedicated graphics card. An i3 or i5 will serve you much better. You also get a much better feature set. M.2, PCIe 3.0, etc.

AMD's CPU platform is dead.

An R9 380 will be better than the 960.

Regardless of whether you believe in Heaven and Hell or not, CX PSUs are of the DEVIL.

The 270 doesn't even come close...the 270 is like 750Ti territory not 960.
