Why do people actually hate OSX so much?

People don't actually hate OSX that much.

It is an excellent operating system. Generally was better for power-users than pre-windows 10.

If anything, they hate something associated with it.

Unless you hate it because your favorite gaming titles wont feature on OSX.

Please avoid feeding the argumentative narcissistic academic monkey.

Go to other hardware enthusiast sites like this. I'm actually surprised that people were agreeing with me here. Usually the Internet calls me a retarded little Apple fanboy.

No, that's not a reason to hate a company. You can think their products don't make sense to YOU, but that's not a reason to hate a company. Not every product in the world is marketed towards everyone. I can assure you, a Bugatti Veyron doesn't offer 70x the performance of a normal car; does that make it a bad product? Or that I should hate Bugatti? No, of course not. Just because I wouldn't buy it (because it's not marketed to me) doesn't make it a bad product. The same is true for any Apple product (or any other product for that matter). Not everything is marketed to everybody.

More expensive...well, it depends on the models and what you're after. If you're the rMBPs to the ultrabook competition, then no, they're not really priced all that much more; the same goes for the AIOs.

Locked down....not really, the vast majority of things you can do on Windows you can do on OSX.

That's a fair point, there are slight functional differences between the UI's that one might prefer one way or the other.

LOL this isn't about being a bad product. Some people don't like a company because their logo is ugly or simply because they are "Mainstream" as in they try to be everywhere and sell a lot of product.

Can I not like the business model that Apple has? If I don't like the business model of Apple can I not like the company? What is wrong with not liking a company based on what their product is, how the product works, and how much money their product costs? NOTHING! I think those are very valid reasons to not like a company. Not liking a companies business model is a valid reason to not like the company. Not liking the people who run the company is also a good reason. There are lots of good reasons. I think not liking a logo is a silly reason.

Linus doesn't like OnePlus because of their business model. Why can't someone not like Apple because of their business model?
