Is it safe to overclock my 4690k?

Yeah you can overclock safely with a water cooler esp...and yes that's a good temp. I think around 4ghz should be easy to get to and keep stable.

Hey guys! I have an Intel i5 4690k. 4 cores, 3.5 GHz... no overclocking yet. I have a Raijintek Triton CPU cooler and it runs at about  25-30 degrees on idle. Is that a good temp? And how high should I overclock? (I don't know much about overclocking, but I was thinking 4.0GHz)

Pretty sure linus did some tutorials on overclocking, check out some of those to learn how to do the basics :)

I hit 4.5GHz on 1.32v. Try for that and look out for your temps because I use a H80i rather than an air cooler.

I use a water cooler too. The Triton is a clear-tubed, dual 140mm cooler.

Yea, I did too. 

 

But then I edited like each frame in photoshop to make it change from red to gray and back again. ;) Took a few hours lol.

I hit 4.5 on 1.185V ;)

With an air cooler, mind you

With a watercooler and a dual 140mm, you should be able to stretch your overclock further than mine since I'm only rocking a single 140mm cooler.
