ok and it says under reset pc and itll remove all your files is that the correct one? im just making absolutely sure thats the right one and that i wont need a windows key.

It will take a while to reinstall Windows and display drivers and such might not work at first but a reboot will fix it.

alrighty witha bootable device will i need a windows 8 key because she doesnt have one other than what is installed on her laptop which we cant get at and i cant actually be there in person to help her fully.

No you don't need a key or anything, you just need to be able to get into the recovery menu. The guide explains it well.
