Does anyone game on a 1440p monitor?

WaitDontSh00t
I currently game on my 27'' TV. I will be getting either an Asus/Acer Ultrawide (The x34 and PG348Q) or the Asus PG279Q soon.

Though along with PC Gaming, I also use my TV to occasionally play Xbox One on, and obviously watch TV on it. One of my concerns were, if I were to get one of those new monitors, how does 1080p from Xbox/Watching TV scale on those monitors with 2560x1440 and 3440x1440? Is it going to look terrible?

I'm trying to figure out if it would look fine, or if I would either need to get a secondary 4k monitor (I heard 1080 scales better with 4k) or a better looking 1080p TV (If I can find one that looks better, since I sit so close to it) to play Xbox and watch TV on.

Do you guys have any input at all on that?

Thanks!

1080p in theory should remain the same at 4K but interpolation will be present at 1440p.
