Yeah I have to assume that these are of questionable quality.  I've heard bad things (just generally) about most LED strips in general/that you have to really make sure you get the right ones to avoid lots of random burned out bulbs, etc.

U missed my point. 

Its original price is over $70 and its on sale only temporarily whereas the one on UK amazon is same all year and hella lot cheaper.

How can I power this?

 

 

They have a 4 pin connector to the power supply

i dont think that they will plug directly into a psu like that.  the white controller has a 12vdc input but it is the barrel type DC not a PC molex type.  other side goes to the LED's (which is a 4pin connector but not molex)

I'm pretty sure (NOT 100% POSITIVE, but pretty sure) that you could just wire a 12v molex adapter to a DC barrel connector that is rated for 12v at the amperage you are using. 5amps (60w) for the whole 5meter roll, which is a decent amount. equal to 100 noctua nf-f12's in amperage (yeah I had to double check that) so dont go using shoddy thin aluminum wire connectors to connect the entire thing.  Amperage goes down depending on how much you cut off so if you use 20% of the roll then it'd be 1 amp (12W)

 

I've never wired LED's for pc's but I was thinking about buying this so I looked into it for about 20 minutes.  I'll probably buy it and check it out but I dont know that ill put it in my pc right away

The reason people had these catching on fire were because they had them hooked up to the wrong amp numbers. Needs 5 amps

You do know that making a higher amperage available will not cause it to be drawn?

you could hook it up to a 50A supply if its rated at pulling 5Amps and still working properly it will still only pull 5 amps.
