So @ and I need a game that we can use to demo at his family's bowling center. So far, for the younger kids we have Scribblenauts. We would like another addition to the game collection and need some inspiration. Here are the requirements:

  • Cannot be gory/violent/bloody - must be PG enough for the general public (no Battlefield or FarCry)
  • Under $50
  • In trying to keep the use of different peripherals to a minimum the games must be played most enjoyably with a keyboard + mouse.
  • Can play well on an R9 290. CPU can vary as we may be able to spend less on the CPU if the said game is not CPU intensive but we can max out on a Core i5 so don't worry too much about the specs needed to play.

We've strongly considered Star Wars Battlefront when it releases but we need a game that will be out by the 1st of November. The Beta has already expired so obviously we can't use that.

Any ideas as to what we could do?

Gonna tag some gamers out there: @thekeemo, @themaniac, @Trik'Stari

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

EDIT 2: Universe Sandbox 1 and 2, Terraria, Europa Universalis 4 and Crusader Kings 2(both made by the same company which is Paradox they take a bit to understand but the games but they are fun to the right person and to get the dlc's it adds up quite a bit also i have Europa Universalis 4 and i quite enjoy it, dont have the dlc's though)

Terraria and minecraft are completely different games lmao

Terraria is great but its not something you could sit down and play for like 5 mins without your own save file

at least we agree on that

not really in minecraft you have you own save file because you have to make a world and terraria is the same except you also get to make a character and Terraria has so much more content that i dont see why people hate on it for being 2d, the content alone is more then enough to make up for that

I dont even play minecraft anymore. Im just saying is that if I was a kid at a bowling alley, I wouldnt want to sit down and try out Terraria not knowing anything about the game. Its a great game but probably not suited for the kind of game he is looking for this particular situation. Terraria requires quite a bit of time to do things in, especially for a new player.

80% of most kids actually know how to play minecraft though. Minecraft can be picked up and just have a little bit of fun (Like playing with lego). Whereas Terraria is more of an Adventure game which takes far too long for anyone to just pick up and play for a few mins. Just sayyin.

Again I think youre taking this out of context. STRMfrmXMN is looking for a game which a kid can come over to while at the bowling alley, play for a few mins (Im guessing 5-10 max so others can have a go), then leave.
