If you buyer is uninformed it would work, but good luck selling it to a competent person.

Yeah, would probably work, just not with someone who knows what they're doing :)

If it does work, repeat for infinite profit

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

So, I had an idea.

-Build a PC for 400-600 dollars

-Sell that PC for 800-1000 dollars

I'm thinking if I label it something like, "CUSTOM BUILT GAMING PC SUPER COMPUTER", it'll probably be bought.

Opinions?

If you find the smoothest, simplest case you can find, gold plate it, and put an apple sticker on it, I can't see how this wouldn't work!

One word: Marketing, advertise like a $600 PC and people will pay $600, advertise like a $1000 PC and people will pay $1000 (give or take)

How apple does it.

Except more money.

If it looks nice and you overclock it you could get some people.

A lot of people are scared to build a gaming pc so you could easily sucker people in.

Just be prepared to use it in case it doesn't sell.

and get a geforce 9800 GT, since it has the highest number and is therefore obviously the best :)

You guys get mad at me for doing this and you're praising this guy?! > :(

Where did you suggest this?

I wanted to sell my 760 or something a while back for like $10 more and you guys said I was ripping the buyer off...

link?

Also, it could just be the wording.  If you post something asking "what would be a fair price", and "if I should do this" and so on, it might get different answers than "could I get away with this" or "would this work" kind of thing, you know?  People are weird that way :P
