CX PSU's aren't as bad as people on this forum make them out to be, it's pretty much a meme now.

They're in Tier 3 for PSU's, which means they're decent.

CX750 and CX850 are alright.

CX600 and below shluld be avoided. Especially since there are better PSUs for the same price bracket. An example, would you put some cheap tires on your cars that may be fine, or may be really bad, or good tires that are guranteed to work. CX PSUs are like playing a lottery, you pretty much loose every time but there are those few who can win.

Or just reccodmend people a better power supply within the same price bracket, and hope they make the right decision.

I agree there might be better ones for the cost

but some people might already own one and people are like "OMG you must replace that right now or you will kill 400 children"

Perhaps that's why my experience with my CX750M has been fine. It didn't like when I tried to OC my GPU to 1450+ but other than that I've had no problems.

The CX850 and CX750 are pretty much a rebranded CX that was made by SeaSonic. It is not to terrible if someone has it and is decent butnjust a little over priced for what it is.

I've had more AX PSU's screw up on me than CX PSU's, and I've owned significantly more CX PSU's. CX PSU's are perfectly fine.

I've heard that the heat tolerance only goes up to 42C? I've been keeping my case below 35C with extremely loud fans for this purpose.

Yes, a CX is perfectly fine for the basic gamer or office PC that will have no overclocking, stress testing, and parts that do not fet very hot.
