Do you guys think it will be this demanding on the actual release? because im playing it as low as it goes and it is at about 15-20 fps... so unplayable.

 

my system:

GTX 970M 3GB

i7 4720HQ 

16GB RAM

 

all drivers up to date

 

also, does anyone elses just minimize after about 2-3 mins in game and just not open again or close?

yeah that's what i thought, i thought i'd at least get 40fps on low even if it is a beta.. but it's impossible to aim because of the fps. and this is just on the single player mission, i think i'd struggle to even get 10fps online.

Frostbite 3 Is a well optimized engine, can you send us a screenshot of your menu where it shows your graphic settings?

It's probably pretty close to how it will release.  Small optimisations might be made but I wouldn't have thought anything huge.  That seems a little low for all your settings on low, I'd turn you resolution down and see how it runs.

The 970m should have NO issues at 1080p as long as the game is not maxed.

That seems ridiculously low for those specs, you should be able to play it with higher settings. Are your temps ok? Are you sure you aren't playing with DSR on? Are you some how using the iGPU?

Maybe the mission is bugged or something, try playing online.

Ok yep after looking at some benchmarks it preforms well in Battlefield 4 at 1080p,  Should definitely be getting good fps at low in Battlefront.

Yeah, i can max BF4 and get well over 60fps and same with far cry 4 on my 970M

pretty sure it's using the dedicated GPU i don't think the intergrated one would even get 15-20fps haha, temps are fine as i pretty much just started the game so nothing got too hot, and i turned the fan upto max just to make sure.

Seems like you've got a fair ammount of motion blur on, perhaps removing that completely, let us see the rest of the graphical settings, also playing in fullscreen might improve your framerate

Alright, in 720p it is A LOT smoother.. was all going well till the CTD haha but we're above 30fps now even with exlosions.. still on low, i will try med/high on 720p tomorrow

i have it on the low preset, so everything low, except i turned Anti aliasing and Ambient Occlusion off

Make sure you are gaming with your Power setting set to high performance and not balanced or some crap setting like that..

I played it for few hours on my laptop, combo of mid/high gets me 30+ all the time. It has a 850m, so your 970m should be able to kill it.

Try using something like MSI Afterburner, and make sure your monitors refresh rate isnt capped.

This game seems to be really well optimized i can see it running on a 850m around medium im Running it at almost all high a few medium at 2160p(4k) with just a single R9 290  averaging 50fps. It has to be something wonky going on you should be able to at min play High settings maybe not the AA and 60fps at 1080. Im assuming your drivers are up to date your pluged into the wall for power and power settings are correct? maybe try uninstalling drivers & the game and reinstalling? have you checked your temps maybe your thermal throttling due to needing to be cleaned?

but if that was the case surely every game would be throttled, wheras i can still get nearly constant 100fps on bf4 on ultra, i might try uninstalling like you suggested.

A friend helped me out that didn't solve the problem but allowed me to play the game. I'm having the same issue as you are having, because I have a lenovo Y50-70 with a 4k screen, 4k screen, and 860m. It was giving me an error that i needed to update my driver when it was already up to date so what my friend showed me was that i needed to lower the resolution, and run with nvidia which put all the stress on the graphics card and i had to make the screen small but i was able to play the beta in amazing quality.

Update: I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it.. now i can play on high/1080p with 60-70fps
