Posted October 5, 2015 Title about sums it up... I lived in norway, but am attending Uni in Canada, and due to space constraints, I had to leave the desktop behind. I thought of dismantling the parts, and bringing everything but the case, but since the system is watercooled, that would have been a royal pain in the but. I have the original case box, but since I'm not there the preparation for shipping won't extend to removing the gpu... I have never shipped anything this far, and I'm not even sure if its worth the risk right now, as my laptop is quite capable. Would love to have your guys' input on this... Posted October 5, 2015 Author Drain it It would be pretty hard to tell my parent how to drain the system over skype, when it would be difficult for me (loop dosent really have a drain port). Worse come to worse, I would have to let any leaked fluids dry before using the system (but it is colored, so that might eba pain) Cpu: Ryzen 2700 @ 4.0Ghz | Motherboard: Hero VI x370 | Gpu: EVGA RTX 2080 | Cooler: Custom Water loop | Ram: 16GB Trident Z 3000MHz PSU: RM650x + Braided cables | Case: painted Corsair c70 | Monitor: MSI 1440p 144hz VA | Drives: 500GB 850 Evo (OS) Laptop: 2014 Razer blade 14" Desktop: http://imgur.com/AQZh2sj , http://imgur.com/ukAXerd
 Posted October 5, 2015 I'd drain and dismantle it then package all the components very well in individual boxes and then ship the case in it's box. It may cost more but the chance of it surviving are MUCH higher. Posted October 5, 2015 Have them sell it then have them send you the money and build a new rig in Canada, if you ship it your going to pay a hefty amount to ship it and risk damaging it, if you don't ship it over the Atlantic it will lose a lot of value by the time you finish university. Build a mini ITX rig and bring it in your carry-on when you go home for breaks/holiday. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/451339-help-me-find-him/
 The value of the norwegian kroner isn't quite high enough right now for that to be a viable option. the most I could get from my setup would be like 7000nok, which is a little over 1000 CAD, and while I could get something like a 970, and an i5, it would be tight... I've done stuff like painting the case, and a custom midplate, so I would like to keep it...
