No. But my reason is other. You don't decide if you need audio card, DAC or AMP by how you use your rig. You make that decision on how you output audio. If you have basic headset or speaker system, then no. On board audio is enough. If you have put as much money on your speakers and have over $150 headphones, then you can consider it. But you don't need anything first and can add that later.

I would always try the onboard audio solution first just to see if you get a good sense of direction from it anyway. You may as well its coming on the motherboard so you may as well check your hearing against it and see if you get a positioning information and it fools your brain. If it does then you don't need to worry about getting a gaming card with SBX or dolby headphone and which would be better because the realtek works for you.
