alright, glue 4 of those together and we got a decent size and a even crazier res/fps ratio

For what purpose

Compared to 4k on a 5.5inch smartphone, 8k on 17.3inch is way less ppi.  /s

 

Seriousely, they are just experimenting how lager displays they can make with a ppi this high. And it's also a lot of PR.

That is because you guys set your Windows DPI to 100%, and not properly adapt it like your phone.

No it is because my eyes are old, and are incredibly messed up from the excessive time before I used Gunnar glasses.

It is the same issue with IPS monitors hurting my eyes.

It is probably because you are using s PWM driven backlight monitor, instead of a dimming circuit.

And if that is not it, then I would considering seeing a professional, if you have not done already to be extra sure you don't have something else, health wise. No one here are experts on the matter.

They only make the panel. The enclosure is probably just one they build. It is probably overly protects the panel as it costs a fortune, and probably has engineering circuit board that is bigger than the panel due to the diagnostics ports and probably design to drive different types of displays and has extra stuff either used or not.

If you see a GeForce graphics card engineering sample, it is like the size of a motherboard, and over sized heating and fan stuck at max speed. Yet our graphics card are fraction of the size. It's just like that. What you see is not a product that you can go and buy. It's more for ASUS, or Dell, etc, go out and buy, assuming they place an order for millions of them, and feels people will go and buy it, despite the super duper high cost which for sure cost for this monitor, and spend teh R&D in trying to find a way to actually drive the display, increasing further the cost.

Maybe if we can get DX12 and Vulkan, 4 SLI'd Fury X cards working as one GPU with Async Compute, and with link-aggregated Displayport, then perhaps all 34TFLOPS of that would be able to drive this monitor at 120Hz.

Yes it is. Now if you set a software flag to not have it scaled as it isn't high DPI aware, Windows will force the application text size to be larger and try and adjust things. Of course it can only guess, and to won't work with programs like Steam which uses a custom UX framework (under such condition, the program remains all small). But, in general, it works.

Its all monitors that have poppy colors.

 

And I have seen a professional.

 

I just get eye strain really easily when the colors are non-matte.

Displayport 1.4 should handle it fine, but no graphics card today supports 1.3 let alone 1.4

Displayport 1.3 (which no GPU supports yet) tops out at 4K 120Hz, so you would need four Displayport 1.3 inputs to make that happen.

 

SuperMHL supports 8K 120Hz, though, but I don't know any device with a superMHL connector.
