Is PhysX worth it?

Hey everybody! I was wondering if PhysX worth it? I'm currently building my first rig and just need to know. The current graphics card I'm interested in buying is the GTX 980Ti and GTX 960/950 for physx. For "future proofing".

For the love of your wallet, do not get a GTX 960 or any card for that matter as a dedicated PhysX card. Your 980Ti can already do that. To answer your question, it's not worth it IMO.

its not a game changer but it brings nice astetics to the table that you cant get with amd.

If you're thinking about getting a second card just for PhysX - don't bother. The 980ti is good enough on its own.

And if it isn't, get two 980ti.

Advanced PhysX in most games that even implement it can be ran on a single card. You don't need a dedicated PhysX card.

Im going to get a 980Ti soon but last week was able to get a 750Ti off a friend for only $100 so i thought i may as well and use it as a PhysX card as you can get good FPS increase in some PhysX heavy games by using a 750TI with a 980 so should do some what the same for a 980Ti

Basically dont go out and spend top dollar on a PhysX, its not worth it. If you can pick up a second hand one like a 750Ti really cheap then yeah maybe.

Btw im in Australia so $100 for second hand 750ti is pretty good

Not really anything special, i used to run it on NV GPU's and i still don't miss it, and you can run PhysX with an AMD GPU, just make sure you have an i7 or better.

I play witcher 3 with hairworks on at 1440p on two 970's.
Your 980ti will be fine
