Scrapyard build

A mate of mine and myself decided to do a scrapyard build by finding parts for pickup on ebay and gumtree. This is what we ended up with:

 

Intel i7 860 CPU

Asus P7P55D-LE Motherboard

Generic 4GB DDR3 Memory

MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Lightning 2GB

Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB 7200RPM HDD

OCZ ModXstream Pro 700W 80+ PSU

Liteon DVD Burner

Antec P183 Mid-Tower Case

Windows 7 Home Premium upgraded to Windows 10

 

Total came to $445 AUD or about $312 USD. It just needs a memory upgrade and a ssd. Were looking at giving it to a friend who wants to play games but is having a pretty rough time financially.

Not bad! I picked up 2 brand new, sealed P2214Hs for $200, and a 7970 for $70 last week. Those were my two great finds so far.

Those IPS ones are pretty nice. I also got a EVGA GTX 970 with the ACX cooler for $390 AUD or $273 USD brand new but that was a ebay promotion.
