EVGA, Seasonic, Antec PSU's

Prepare yourself for incoming CX haters

For temporary use the CX is perfectly fine

Don't start a damn flame war either. I've had enough of it

TL:DR get a better PSU end of story

I really wouldn't run that power supply (the wattage rating is at 30C, which is kind of pathetic) but it's a nice rig overall.

Should be good but that PSU may not last as long as the warranty (I mean, CX + really high end GPU? Nope.)

Ech, the 660 Ti SLI I had before generated more heat and took more power yet the PSU had no problems.

I agree, but the amount of cooling I have makes up for it.

quoting corsair: "cx is ideal for basic builds"

i suggest you rethink life if you think a 980ti is a basic build...

I treat my 750 as a 600 which mitigates the negative effects of CX

Ech, the 660 Ti SLI I had before generated more heat and took no poweryet the PSU had no problems.

But those were 660Ti's in SLI, this is a 980Ti, there's a rather noticeable difference.

EDIT: Well, not really, but i'm trying to make a point, Corsair themselves have said the CX series is for basic builds, and anything with a GTX980Ti is not basic, as @manikyath said

I'd go with EVGA for power supplies but that's just me.

As for the processor is that all you can get due to your mobo?

I could grab a 6700k but I'm not sure the $250+ would be worth it for a small performance gain.

if a company says "this car is for driving around the farmland"

are you gonna do a drag race with that car?

If the drag race is on a farm, sure.

Just for gaming? 16GB and a Core i7? A bit over-the-top, wouldn't you say?

I like to live extravagantly

The 3770K is more expensive than the 4790K...

I got mine 2 years ago for $100 off.

*Sigh* the CX thing has been beaten to death. I get it, it shouldn't run over 30C. I'm not stupid enough to have my computer in a hot room.

Upgrading isn't even worth it tbh.
