Gaming CPU needed?

fx-6300 vs intel i3 for 90% gaming, 5% 9gagging, 5% video editing and game modding(light)

i need help, i am currently deciding on my cpu, i am looking at the FX-6300 and the i3.
i need something that will fit what i need (as the title said). i like photoshopping for fun, and video editing. for small presentations (also for fun), but will mostly game on it most of the time. 
i need upgradeability, that will require only changing the cpu.
if i pick the fx, i'll match it with an MSI 970 gaming motherboard. i am restricted for the budget on my cpu.
i will be playing Dota 2, BF4, nba 2k, GTA V,assassins creed games. i think i will be trying to play any new games( but not a priority)

any suggestions?

The i3 is faster in most games.

Neither, save more and get an i5, will last for longer (in comparison with other choices), and you'll thank us later if you choose to do so.

GTA V really does not like dual cores, so if you can, get an I5, but otherwise I would go with an AMD for budget - but be prepared to upgrade in the future, they aren't that great in terms of raw performance

With the games that you listed, you need to go Intel and not cheap out. You'd be fine with an i3, but I would also recommend saving your money and going ahead and getting an i5.

with new infrastructures coming, there may be the chance of datacenters tossing out some haswell based servers, if you're lucky you could pick up an LGA1150 xeon in the future for next to nothing.

If these are your choices, the extra cores of the FX-6300 will serve you better over the dual core i3. If you can save up to increase your budget, aim for an i5, either the 4690 or 4790. Regardless of which you choose, however, you will still have limited upgrade options. The i3 will allow you to upgrade to a similar i5 or i7 later as prices come down, whereas the FX-6300 means your only realistic upgrade path, for which you'd not see much gain, is an FX-8300 series. However I'd still say to save for a larger budget if you can.

FX-6300 is better for AAA titles while i3 is better for stuff such as free 2 plays!

 

The FX is more bang for the buck but the i3 has a better upgrade path...

FX CPU's are kinda dead. They're old.

U should wait for Skylake i3 processors.
