EVGA OR Corsair for power supply units?

IceWolfPuppies

I've used Windows troubleshooter to solve issues - it worked. Indian tech support FTW

well.. the guy is also kind of a troll, so he made it interesting.

quoting his story here: (its a college story, take it with a grain of salt)

tech: "hello my name is bob, how can i help you?'

he: "whats your name?"

tech: "bob"

he: "no, your REAL name"

tech: "rasjid"

he: "look rasjid, i have this problem with my cooler..."

and rasjid helped very well...

I haven't had to deal with Corsair's customer support, but I can speak to EVGA's and they're amazing. 10/10

Corsair RMA's are pretty good. RMA'd a bad set of ram. They sent me another bad set of ram. Only restraint was I had to wait a month before filing another RMA. New ram works perfect. I assume PSU's are the same way.

I like Corsair. I'm sure EVGA is just as good.

Thanks!

I'm getting the feeling a Corsair PSU ran over your foot at some point.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/RM750/

The price of the RM 650W was 20% more than my 750W S12G :D

I was good! I ignored the price. Just asking that the PSU is discussed for what it is, and that brand loyalty stays where it should. :D

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Look at the JohnyGURU review - the comments about the capacitors and the soldering mistakes - also - the price.

Yep, one review. Look at them all, the rating on the PSU is good for it's price point.

I wouldn't say it's flat out better. EVGA's customer support is usually better but Corsair replaces parts with brand new parts so they're both good in different ways. That said, I prefer EVGA psus even though I have an AX860 in my main rig. EVGA didn't have any that were small enough for me.

@Aniallation and @STRMfrmXMN

You are telling me to ignore the best and most trusted reviewer who has been doing it for longer than you have know what a capacitor is. Seriously - the MAIN capacitors are japanese - the secondary are taiwanese and/or chinese.

They both offer low-high end units that range from ``not gonna make your pc explode, but really not very great´´ to basicly perfect.

EVGA replace 780s with 980s - it doesn't get better than that :)

VS and CX are bad - flat out bad

RM have bad secondary capacitors and are usually very overpriced

CS are meh

RMi are good

HXi and HX are good but coil whine

AX are good

AXi are good but coil whine and multirail else fire.

What about their TX series? I have one of those in my rig

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I made a post here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/452404-corsair-rmi-or-hxi/?p=6067189

You see those green and blue capacitor on the secondary side? Those are Luminous Town caps, or LTec which are Taiwanese.

I have to remember to tag you too friend :D
