EVGA OR Corsair for power supply units?

IceWolfPuppies

I made a post here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/452404-corsair-rmi-or-hxi/?p=6067189

You see those green and blue capacitor on the secondary side? Those are Luminous Town caps, or LTec which are Taiwanese.

"Corsair uses Japanese-made, 105°C-rated main hold-up and secondary capacitors, which is good news, and the 80 PLUS Gold certification means that there isn't a great deal of heat produced when converting AC to PC-friendly DC, enabling the RM750 to be equipped with a quiet fan that, at most times, doesn't even switch on until 300W or so is being pulled from the wall."

If I was you I would send them a very stern Email informing them of their mistake.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

What about their TX series? I have one of those in my rig

TX are the predecessor to HX - fine.

SeaSonic, EVGA, Antec or Super Flower. Nothing less

SeaSonic, Delta, and Super Flower are the only ones i trust that make there own psu's

Antec(i believe they are all/most are delta units so there good), EVGA(only the B2, G2, GS, P2. and T2), XFX(all seasonic units if i recall correctly), Corsair(only the very high end ones), and some others i dont care/dont remember, are the ones that i trust that rebrand psu's

XFX or SeaSonic: the majority of Corsair and EVGA PSUs are just rebrands of them.

XFX uses Seasonic as there oem, they dont make there own

Generally it seems EVGA's offerings are better in total. But depends what budget you are shopping at

if it's budget PSU's (EVGA 80+/B vs Corsair CX/VS)? Both kinda suck. Go Seasonic S12ii if you can, or XFX Proseries/Bronze TS, i believe Antec has some good offerings too.

if it's middish good range PSU's Evga wins (GS/B2 vs RM/CS)

If it's going pretty high range (EVGA G2/P2/T2 vs Corsair AXi/RMi/HXi) Then Both are pretty awesome but i believe EVGA has the better pricing and not as much concern i see over coil whine.

if you are PSU shopping what is your budget?. Cause there are areas where Corsair and Evga get beaten up by Seasonic/XFX.

the 80+/w1 series are absolutely terrible, you can get an antec earthwatts for similar price which uses a delta psu

When did I say anything? I'm quoting reviews. Your fandom is showing. Though I can't figure out if it's for a brand of PSU or Johny

That job belongs to Jonnyguru aka Jonny Gerow aka Techinical Marketing of Corsair. Or any other employer at Corsair, right? I'm only informing you that this Hipro build unit has Ltec - which are NOT Japanese.

Btw, that RM750/850 unit that the Hexus made a review on is no longer relevant, as it had been discontinued and replaced by a different platform from CWT which does have Japanese secondary funnily enough.

http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page2293.htm as you can see a good chunk of them are fsp and hec, with the ones i listed being super flower and seasonic units

I tend to ignore the bad models - no need to know if the fuck up was Compucase or FSP - it was still a fuck up

Personally I like evga since their gold rated psu are fully modular and have black braided cables AND they do all this while being cheaper than corsair (at least in au not sure if it is in other countries) never have had any problems with either company though (functionality wise) but evga has more features for cheaper.
