random crashes

e2298

for some weeks, I have been getting some weir, random crashes from time to time, I just ignored them since they didn't happen too often, but the last two days, they have happened about 10 times. The screen can look white, gray, black or like the attached files, in the case of the attached files it can be any color, and one time when it turned gray, you could kind of see the "shadows" of stuff like the taskbar and the browser toolbar. As for the sound, it either just stops completely, or it gets stuck on some kind of "humming". As soon as I start it up again (2-3 minutes after the crash), if I check the temps, they're ok, never over 50 Celsius. I cleared out of the dust, checked the connections, checked for burnt stuff on the PCB, and everything seems fine. the crashes happen regardless of the load, I may be playing games or just checking my mail, it happens just the same. I haven't messed with any drivers for about 2 months.

The PC is about 2-3 years old. could it just be it's time to change it?

I am running windows 8.1 64 bit. my system specs are:

AMD Phenom II 965

cooler master 212

16GB 1600mhz (4x4)

M5A97

ASUS 7770

some random 1TB toshiba HDD I had laying around

2TB seagate barracuda

500w PSU.

here are the pics i've taken of the screen, I have gotten the in other colors, too.

what does event viewer say?

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

shoul I just uninstall that program and see how it goes? weird thing is, the crashes happen even if it's not running that program.

That's only the location activity log. What do the other logs show?

Size does not matter; it's how you use it

That seems to show up before every crash. aside from that, just some failed licensing for some reason. In all the other categories there is nothing that appears to be related.
