Not going to try another gpu from asus

nanowatt

I am pissed and i made this because i knew it will draw attention and maybe i will get some help.

ps:read the edit.

We all get REKT at times by hardware, my first time with Skylake was not great, i could not boot my system, but i never once came to this forum for help, i did what i could to search up info, turns out it was simply my ram settings.

asus, all 3 of them

and for your question.Because is frustrating! On asus's website it says that updating the bios and using a certain driver it will fix the issue so clearly they know about it.If you google it you will see a lot of people have this issue

Asus is not that great on 200 series.

i'll be more scientific: plug the router into ups - it works

plug it into the wall - it hangs

plug it into the ups again - it works.

Umm no.

I ran into Amperage issues before wattage issues actually. 1.45v Core 1.7v memory and 1.2v Aux benching 1300+ on the core on air cause OVP to trip on my PSU due to amperage. Total System powerdraw at the time was about 780W.

If i rma it i am not going to get another one from asus that's for sure. The only reason i don't want to rma it is because it took 1 month and 1 week to replace 2 cards

that's 450W max.

Simply put - the connectors would not allow for more than that without catching fire or the PSU shutting off. Basic ATX specifications.

No they can put out alot more then that, i.e. extreme overclockers with the 980ti K|NGP|N needing a 1300W PSU for the card alone as its been known to draw up to 1200w at 1.8v on core.

Still, those other systems may also be set to prioritize the iGPU in the BIOS/ UEFI. Have you checked? It's the default setting of most UEFIs since Sandy Bridge to run iGPU even if you have a dGPU connected.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

So you used all the amps an 850w PSU can deliver? let us not factor in that your PSU is over 5 years old.

You do realise that if the card draws so much it would shut off the PSU? Really, do some reading before posting.

Yeah I unfortunately did, means no benching past 1245MHz core and 1500 mem till its replaced in the coming week.

I know its old, I've always said to people when I post scores for anything that my PSU has been showing its age with this card alot more then it did with my Classy

Also nice try with the image link them properly

It's literally impossible. Unless you are water cooling and/or LN2 to the extreme then 1.8V 1200W is impossible. Flat out impossible.

If your card attempts to draw 1200W over 3 8-pin connectors it will force the PSU to shut down because OPP (over power protection) would kick in.
