Windows 7, 8.1, or 10

Which windows should i pick for gaming only. I heard lot good and bad stuff about Windows 10.

gaming only - 8.1 is the best performance wise.

 

IMO windows 10 isnt ready yet, and win 7 is nice eye candy, but its not as performing.

 

EDIT: i'm not even touching the whole spying stuff, i've gotten so tired of hearing about it i'm planning on a switch to linux just to get rid of hearing it.

Windows 8.1 right now. Good performance and no compatibility issues like Windows 10. You can upgrade to 10 for free later once it's been improved.

I'm digging windows 10 and have had no problems playing a wide range of games. It's clean, snappy, and the spying stuff which I haven't read into deeply doesn't bother me. I'm not doing anything illegal and if they're just getting usage reports I'm fine. Also Windows 10 has DX12 support which is cool.

very true, but if you're only gaming, you actually wont really notice the "intolerable" bit.

 

i cant remember the last time i've used win8 start menu like a start menu, aside from just searching for a program.

Wouldn't be much if difference to me. But to me I am the odd one and like Windows 8.
