Zotac GTX 970, good or garbage?

Hemanse

So my 770 is pretty much dying and now im gonna have to get myself a new GPU even tho i really didnt feel like buying new parts :(

Saw that Zotac cards are on "sale" here in Denmark, but i have never owned anything Zotac so im not sure if they are garbage or just fine, would love to hear from people who own Zotac cards.

It's alright, not the best of the 970s, but still not garbage.

Any 970 is great for driving 1080p and sometimes 1440p, but the MSI one is the best

I disagree, the Gigabyte G1 Gaming is better, it's binned, runs cooler and quieter under load than the rest of the 970s, if you use this http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/275897-tutorial-how-to-make-your-900-series-video-card-have-a-0-fan-mode/ you can make it silent at idle, and it's also got a backplate and glowing led logo.

With the problems i have had with my MSI GTX 770 Lightning that is now dying i would never buy MSI again, but i am on a 1080p display and dont plan on upgrading anytime soon, so the 970 seems like the best bang for the buck.

Have you had any from other vendors?

Specs wise and performance wise the G1 Gaming beats all other 970s for pretty much everything.

I have heard good things about the G1, the only thing i hate when buying a new card is the coil whine lottery.

Seems like its worth spending the extra 45$ the G1 cost vs the cheapest Zotac

Then the G1 Gaming should be the top of your list as it runs the quietest under load, coolest under load, and performs really damn good. (Not to mention it's an overclocking beast)

My G1 970 runs pretty cool at 112 power level and 1550 or so mhz on air.

Does seem like a nice card, i do also like the evga, but the fact that they dont have a backplate kinda blows

They sell a backplate. It's worth it. Cards no longer look right without one once you have owned one.

Okay, all the EVGA cards are more expensive then the G1 here tho, so im 99% sure im gonna grab me one of those.

The G1 gaming has really oversized cooler, so it runs really cool under load. However it isn't the quietest card ever made. But it still performs ok. About the zotac, I haven't heard anything bad about it.

I'd try to avoid the first card. It's not a good card. Sadly I don't have any experience with the second one.
