Asus Xonar U7 vs Fiio E10

Go to solution Solved by t0wer,

fiio is an audio company, asus is a computer company. I'd go fiio.

U7 seems pretty decent but I cannot vouch for it. E10 has a bass boost for headphones in case you were looking for that. It is great.

Enjoy those tacos now, for in 1000 years they will be illegal... eh Ha Ha Ha! I think we all know why.

I'm really hoping ASUS sprouts a new leaf with the STU.

it's still overpriced and just a slightly cut down essence one from a computer company.

Different hi-fi look, same overpowered hi-fi components.  Whoop-de-doo indeed.  At least the "symetrical upsampling" nonsense is over.  For now.

It looks better, so it must sound better too.

Not that anything Asus pushes out is really hi-fi, many better and different options out there.

It's not even fully phased out in professional DACs.

*back story, skip if uninterested* I was looking for an A/DAC/interface to use with my band for recording, and a bunch of them were still boasting their up sampling. So I started looking and even some high end models still boast it :(

Does anyone know if the the E10 will adequately drive 300ohm headphones?

Cheers

Should be. That is the most they can drive. I've used 250ohm headphones before and they ran great.

Maybe, It depends on how loud you like it.  You're right on the borderline of the E10's power limits.

Huh Wat is it lol

clearly supports outputs for a set of stereo speakers.  Also it's Class D.  Very interesting design.  FiiO sure is an eclectic audio company.

>Banana plug/terminal output

Those are for speakers.  It's just a speaker amp/preamp that happens to be Class D.
