I kinda want to get Ubuntu running on my laptop

I would recommend Mint. A lot easier... and... Unity *shivers*

Why do you bother with Linux? What does is it do that Windows doesn't?

Oh my. Tons of customizibility, you can make it do whatever you want. Also, if you run Linux, you become a 1337 h4k0r immediatly

I have used lots of Distros and for ease of use it has to be Elementary OS > Ubuntu

Why do you bother with Linux? What does is it do that Windows doesn't?

A better question is what features do you use on Windows that justify paying for it? Why is it the free thing that needs to justify its position over the one that you need to go grey market for (effectively piracy) just to not pay between £60 and £100?

My media PC runs kubuntu.

The first computer I ever used was Fedora Core. It is just symbolic.

(I do have a VM of fedora 22, as well as cent)

More supported programs and games without having to use buggy wine, cleaner look IMO, and a more streamlined experience.

If you don't like the look of Linux, change it, that is the beauty of it.

I used to use ubuntu, before I wanted to play my games again :)

Wine just never liked me, so I just went and got a copy of Windows for $25 from G2a.

I miss my linux.

Changing it takes time and effort, as well as a big understanding of the distros etc
