iPhone 6 Not Playing 1080p Youtube

Hi, I recently upgraded from an iPhone 5s to a 6 and it's fantastic bar one minor thing. It won't play 1080p YouTube videos through the app. My 5s could and so I am sure the 6 is more than capable, and I doubt it's an app issue as the 6 has been out for nearly a year and so assume this would have been fixed already. It must be able to play 1080 as the screen is retina and has all the fancy stuff etc.....I don't find it a big issue, just a little niggle. The 720p selection is there, but no 1080 which puzzles me. If anyone could explain why it doesn't play 1080 or even offer a solution I would be most grateful. Thanks, Ben.

The iPhone 6 doesnt support 1080p I believe. My 6 Plus plays 1080p.

The iPhone 6 appears to have a 1334x750 resolution screen. 'Retina' just refers to the pixel density, not necessarily the overall resolution.

To play 1080p you would have had to have gotten the 6 plus.... the 6 is a lower res

meanwhile im here with my totaly useless 2560x1440 resolution on my s6 edge i would rather want the iphone dpi and therefore better battery life

Just checked the iPhone 5s screen resolution and that was even lower than the 6, so how come I could play 1080 and even 720 on that? The resolution on the 5s is only 1136x640??

tbh iphone 6 doesn't have a great dpi. 6 plus is much sharper even when looking from a reasonable distance.

i know the dpis my father has the 6 plus and my mom the 6 but i would just like my s6 too last longer
